I have run my garden business for over 11 years now. I have seen a lot of gardens, read many a gardening book and planted a lot of plants in that time. This means I have experience of what works where and which plants are suitable for different locations. I have seen a lot of gardens and still have a passion for gardening books. Can you own too many gardening books?
I studied horticulture at Capel Manor Gunnersbury and gained my RHS Level 2 qualification in 2013. This included among other topics plant science, garden maintenance, plant choices, plant nutrition and soil.
Over the years I have developed my plant knowledge. I enjoy developing a garden to suit your particular needs and preferences. I love the challenge of finding suitable plants for that location, aiming for longer flowering times and year round interest.
I worked for a year as a volunteer at Petersham nurseries, working closely with the head gardener in the extensive private garden of the house.
Whilst I am not a trained garden designer, I am confident to plant up sections of your garden and design small gardens from scratch. Nothing is more joyful and satisfying than starting with an empty space and seeing that garden grow and develop in the first year and over years to come. I also have contacts to garden designers, if that is a service you require in terms of making more structural changes to your garden.
I mainly work in private gardens and I have been self-employed for over eleven years now. I have public liability insurance.
This is my second career after many years working as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist (CPsychol ). I now much prefer planting to statistical analysis, developing gardens rather than selection processes and having private clients rather than big corporates. I still love a good spreadsheet though.
Thanks Anna
